Physical Characteristics
The Galapagos islands are a group of islands located about 1,000km west of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean. The group contains 14 large, and many small volcanic islands. The islands lack coral. These islands are temperate because of the cold Peru current that touches them in spite of their position near the equator.
